The Free Program

"We don't rise to the level of goals; we fall to the level of our systems."
-James Clear

For those who haven't gotten a hair test or are waiting on the results, there is a free program that can still do quite a lot for one's health & well-being. The free program is cheaper to implement, but is less powerful than a full program that is individualized & supervised.

This program is based on off the work of Dr. Paul Eck, Dr. Lawrence Wilson, Dr. George Watson, and others.

It consists of three pillars: Nutrition & Supplements, Lifestyle, & Detoxification

Nutrition & Supplements

Outlined here is the alkaline reserve diet, tuned for slow oxidizers, a mineral pattern that about 80-85% of adults are in. The goals of this diet are:

  • to maximize mineral content of food, which is very low today due to depleted soils.

  • to help strengthen digestion

  • to provide pure food free of the most troublesome chemicals, pesticides, and heavy metals.

  • gently increase the oxidation rate

The core of it is as follow:

  • 6-9 cups of cooked vegetables per day. This may seem like a lot, but it is extremely important to support detoxification & gut repair.

    • Best are mainly root & cruciferous vegetables, which are essentially denser nutritionally & more yang in Chinese terminology. Some of the best of these are carrots, broccoli, broccolini, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, onions of all kinds, red & savoy cabbage, beets, green beans, ginger, & rutabaga.

    • They are best cooked till soft. Cooking them this way makes them far more digestible & allows you to absorb more of their minerals. Steaming & pressure cooking conserves the nutrition best.

  • 4-6oz of animal protein per day.

    • This can be grass-fed/pasture-raised beef, lamb, organic chicken, turkey, small fish (in particular sardines), wild game.

    • Pasture raised eggs (8-12 per week.)

    • Red meat limited to 16oz per week (general guidelines, this changes based on person.)

    • If tolerated, some goat cheese/goat yogurt.

    • Raw Dairy

  • Some nut/seed butters. These are dense nutritionally & easier to digest than whole nuts, which can irritate the gut. This includes almond butter, cashew butter, tahini, and others.

    • Avoid peanut butter, as it tends to have mold toxins (alfatoxins.)

  • Some complex carbohydrates.

    • Yellow & Blue corn (avoiding white, especially if it is GMO), Quinoa, Oatmeal (try to find gluten free & glyphosate free if you can, I know One Degree Organics sells one.)

  • Additionally:

    • 1-2 tsp of nutritional yeast per day

Additionally, there are some foods that are considered "occasional", and are best eaten 1-2x per week at most.

  • Beans & Lentils - these are best pressure cooked. Lentils can be eaten more regularly if you find glyphosate free ones.

  • Organic dairy products - if tolerated

  • Rice - Tends to be high in arsenic. Basmati is best due to lowest arsenic content.

  • Sweet potatoes.

  • Gluten-free breads & pastas (check ingredients)

To be limited or avoided:

  • Wheat - very irritating, damages gut lining.

  • Conventional diary

  • Conventional meat, pork (due to parasites), and larger fish (due to mercury.)

  • Sugar

  • Fruit - fruit today has many issues today including far too much sugar & not enough the minerals we need. If you are in robust health it can be occasional.

  • Vegetable oils such as canola, sunflower, & corn. - These are very toxic.

Other diet tips:

  • Avoid liquids with meals - they dilute our digestive juices

  • Relax & establish a grateful state before and after eating. This helps digestion.

  • If digestion is very messed up, a digestive aid like GB-3 (endomet) can be helpful.

For liquids:

  • Spring water is by far the best. Second best is carbon filtered tap, preferably using one that filters fluoride. 8-12 cups of water per day.

  • Avoid reverse osmosis, artificially alkaline, or 'purified' waters. These either don't hydrate the cells well or contain the wrong form of minerals.

  • Distilled water can be used for short periods of time during healing reactions / retracings.

  • Maximum one cup of coffee per day. Too much caffeine messes with our autonomic nervous system & can interfere with healing.

  • Herbal teas are okay.

  • Avoid sugary fruit juices, sodas, and sports drinks.

In terms of supplementation, we seek to build up nutrient reserves, promote detoxification, and support various organ systems. Here are the basic recommendations for one who has not gotten a hair test.

  1. Megapan (by endomet) or a similar multimineral/multivitamin such as this one (discount code: JYOTI10.) - Boosts oxidation rate, which generally increases the energy available to the body for healing. Make sure it has no copper or iron.

    • Some people do not tolerate the inactive b6 in megapan. If that's the case, use the other linked above.

  2. Kelp capsules - fantastic source of iodine and other minerals. Up to 6000mg of kelp capsules per day.

  3. Omega 3 fatty acids - about 1200mg daily for adults. Helps cell membranes, brain function, inflammation, and much more.

  4. Vitamin D3 - sunshine does not provide enough today. About 4000-5000 iu daily. Good to get levels tested.

  5. A digestive aid - GB-3 is the one used in mineral balancing. Alternatively, one can buy oxbile and pancreatin for cheaper.

  6.  Calcium, magnesium,  & zinc. - Soils today are very devoid of these nutrients. Paramin (by endomet) is used in mineral balancing for calcium/magnesium. About 750mg calcium, 400mg magnesium, and 10-20mg of a zinc chelate is a good starting point.

  7. TMG - optional. Referred to as the "detox supplement." Increases methylation & turns up detoxification pathways. Can help feelings of depression as well. Up to 3000mg daily.

    1. If not tolerated, leave out.

Lifestyle

Outlined here are some lifestyle tips to support deep healing & well-being.

  1. Reduce stress as much as possible - many people burn themselves out with worry & aimless excess activity.

  2. More rest - Consistent 8-9 hours of sleep. Naps can be helpful as deep healing & detoxification occurs.

  3. Meditation & breath techniques - very important for energy levels, healing the nervous system, and releasing emotions that could be obstacles to deeper healing.  Some simple ones include nadi shodhana, 3-part yogic breath, and Wim Hof Breathing. One can look up videos or reach out to me for a 1 on 1 session. Important to have this be a daily practice as the benefits compound over time.

  4. Limit sexual fluid lose (for men) - it is loaded with nutrients & minerals, so losing it too often can definitely get in the way of healing. Ideally once per month at most if one is ill.

  5. 20-30min of sunshine per day

  6. Reduce EMFs as much as possible. - at the least wifi off when not in use, and cell phone on airplane mode if in pocket. Spend time in nature regularly. EMFs have been shown to damage the body in a variety of ways.

  7. Remove dental mercury fillings. - these are extremely toxic and many people with them find immediate relief from some symptoms after their removal.

  8. Reduce toxin exposure by getting organic cleaning products, beauty products, and detegrents. Getting a shower filter like this one is a great idea.

Detoxification

Due to the levels of environmental toxicity today, detoxification has become a key to living a long & illness free life. Here are some of the safe methods used in Mineral Balancing Science.

  • Infrared Sauna therapy - one of the most powerful ways to removal of most toxic metals & chemicals. There are studies that show that the more one uses the sauna, the longer they live. Start with 10-15 minutes sessions weekly, and if tolerated, work up to 20-30 minutes 2-3x per week.

    • If you don’t have access to a full sauna or can’t tolerate the heat for health reasons, you can still enjoy the benefits of near-infrared healing with one or two large 250-watt red bulbs. In addition to the bulb you’ll want a clamp-on lamp (also referred to as a brooder lamp holder with clamp) to house the bulb and so you can attach it to something. Hardware stores, animal feed supply stores or Amazon often carry both the bulbs and the housing lamp. The single heat lamp can be used from 5-30 minutes on any area for targeted healing. Shining the light on the abdomen and the lower back areas helps with detoxification.

  • Breathwork - many simple breathing techniques such as box breathing, wim hof, breath of fire, and bellows breath can be very powerful for detoxification. A great key to the techniques is practicing breath retentions (without forcing them).  Other more advanced techniques can be even more powerful but should be practiced with guidance. One can find videos of the ones mentioned, or reach out to learn with me

  • Coffee Enemas - In the integrative health world, this has become a popular way to deeply heal the liver & cleanse the colon. They have been shown to increase glutathione in the liver by up to 600-700%, and were used by Dr. Max Gerson for many decades to heal severe illnesses. They have a variety of benefits & are extremely safe. Find instructions here.

  • Foot reflexology - involves firmly rubbing the feet on both the top & the bottom. This is a simple way to open up the "chi" channels of the body, and this practice can induce detoxification via reflex actions to organs. One can use a chart like this for targeted therapy.

  • There are many more forms I use with clients such as binders, amino acids, photobiomodulation patches, and other specific 'detox' supplements. They are case specific and therefore not included here.

Make changes gradually, knowing that the more one does of this program the better. Healing requires discipline, but it also requires self-compassion/understanding. Just do your best.
